Ecommerce news and updates

Shopify now allows retailers to display multiple shipping rates and estimated delivery times at checkout. Rates can be fetched automatically or customized to fit store policies.

Shopify has introduced a unified file picker on the variant detail page, making it easier for merchants to access all shop images when managing product variants.

Shopify Flow now offers enhanced metaobject tools, including new actions like "Get metaobject entries" and "Get metaobject entry." These actions make it easier to store and retrieve metaobject data in workflows. For example, you can use metaobjects to manage a fraud deny list and query it in workflows for tasks like sending alerts or canceling orders.

Pinterest has revealed its top color predictions for 2025: Cherry Red, Butter Yellow, Aura Indigo, Dill Green, and Alpine Oat. These colors, inspired by users' searches and saves, aim to spark creativity for mood boards, product ideas, and more.

Walmart has partnered with resale platform Rebag to add over 27,000 pre-owned luxury items, including handbags, jewelry, and watches from brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel, to its marketplace. This launch aligns with Walmart's new Luxe Resold platform for luxury brand resales. 

Klarna has expanded its partnership with Stripe, enabling merchants in 26 countries to offer Klarna's BNPL services. Originally launched in 2021 for US merchants, the collaboration now also allows Stripe's merchants to conduct real-time A/B tests on Klarna products.

Walmart has updated its logo for the first time in 20 years as part of a broader brand refresh. The redesign, costing $2.1 million, reflects Walmart's evolution while maintaining its heritage. Key changes include a modernized wordmark inspired by Sam Walton’s trucker hat, an updated spark logo symbolizing energy, and a refreshed color palette featuring True Blue and Spark Yellow. The fresh new look is rolling out on the website and app this month, with in-store updates coming soon. Over 4,600 stores across the US are getting a makeover!
