The Shop App now lets you shop locally in any country, thanks to a new feature launched this week.
Shopify Scripts customizations report now available to accelerate migration. Merchants who need to replace their Shopify Scripts for payment, shipping, and discount customizations, can now use a personalized report that recommends compatible Shopify Functions alternatives. Refer to this new, AI-powered report to recreate your Shopify Scripts customizations with Shopify Functions by either building custom apps or by installing a compatible app. The deadline to migrate off Shopify Scripts is August 28, 2025.
Shopify has enabled duties and import taxes calculations for all plans, previously limited to Advanced and Plus users. This feature lets merchants display and collect duties and taxes at checkout, ensuring cost transparency for customers. Merchants should pair this with duty prepaid labels (purchased outside Shopify Shipping) to avoid double charges and reduce parcel rejections. A temporary 0.5% transaction fee applies to orders with calculated duties and taxes, with exceptions for specific regions.
The USPS briefly suspended inbound packages from China and Hong Kong on Tuesday but reversed the decision after 12 hours. They are now working on adjusting to the new China tariffs. Stay tuned for updates as this situation evolves.

Shopify’s Fraud Filter app was sunset on January 31—if you haven’t migrated yet, your store is at risk. Here’s how to secure your business now.
1️⃣ Switch to Metaobjects + Shopify Flows
Create a "Bad Actors" metaobject to store your fraud blocklist (emails, addresses, etc.).
Split large lists into chunks of 127 entries (Shopify limits single-line text fields to 128).
2️⃣ Automate Fraud Detection
Order Created Flow: Cancel/refund orders if customer data matches your blocklist.
Order Canceled Flow: Tag fraudsters and auto-update your metaobject via Admin API requests.
3️⃣ Import Existing Data
Use Matrixify to bulk-import your old Fraud Filter blocklist into metaobjects.
Format lists with ChatGPT (split into arrays of 127 items).
