Shopify Entrepreneur Weekly

Helping Shopify merchants navigate the Shopify ecosystem for winning outcomes

Hey Shopify store owners,

We know firsthand that running a store isn’t always smooth sailing. Whether it's fixing missing data in GA4, staying ahead of the latest ecommerce updates, or simply making your site look and perform better — you’ve got a lot on your plate.

That’s why we’re here — every week — to share useful tips, insights, and tools that help you grow your store with less stress and more confidence. 💪

Here’s what’s in this week’s newsletter:

  • Shopify and USDC payments

  • Sezzle vs. Shopify lawsuit

  • TikTok’s AI ads expansion

  • Fixing missing sales data in GA4

  • Shop Pay installments banners

  • New Shopify themes

Let’s tackle these challenges together and keep building your dream store 🚀

Key ecommerce updates

Shopify x Coinbase x Stripe: Crypto payments made easy
Shopify is rolling out USDC (a stablecoin pegged to the dollar) payments through new integrations with Coinbase and Stripe. You’ll be able to accept crypto in your checkout just like any other method, without third-party apps — and with zero conversion fees.

Bonus: Buyer protections like refunds and chargebacks are built in, so your store stays safe. This is in early access now, rolling out globally to 34 countries. Crypto-curious? It’s a good time to keep an eye on this.

Sezzle sues Shopify: The BNPL battle heats up
Sezzle, a BNPL provider, has filed an antitrust suit against Shopify, accusing it of favoring its in-house BNPL option, Shop Pay Installments (powered by Affirm). Sezzle says Shopify made it harder for shoppers to choose alternatives, costing them growth.

While this doesn’t affect all stores directly (yet), it’s a signal of the increasing tension around payment ecosystems. If you rely on BNPL for conversions, this is one to watch.

TikTok’s Symphony: AI ads that look like creators
TikTok’s new AI tool, Symphony, is expanding fast. You can now create influencer-style content using AI avatars, text-to-video generators, and image-based video tools — no real creators needed.

The line between ads and organic content is disappearing. If your brand is advertising on TikTok, it might be time to test out these tools to stay competitive.

Tip of the week: Recover missing GA4 sales data (Up to 20%)

Here’s a hidden problem: Shopify’s default Google Analytics integration often misses up to 20% of your sales data. That’s because it only tracks purchases when customers reach the Thank You page — and not everyone gets there (think failed loads, redirects, or early exits).

Here’s a fix we recommend at ShopExperts.com:

  1. Capture the GA4 cookie on page load — Save the session and client ID as cart attributes.

  2. Use Shopify Flow + GA4 Measurement Protocol — Trigger a server-side event when an order is created. Send the full purchase data (including cookie info) directly to GA4.

✅ No duplicate events.
✅ More accurate performance tracking.
✅ Better ad targeting and decision-making.

If this sounds like something you want but don’t have the time (or dev skills) to implement — we’ve got your back. Submit a project here and we’ll help you get it live fast.

Quick win: Free Shop Pay installments banners

Let your customers know they can split payments — right where it counts.

Adding Shop Pay Installments banners to your product and cart pages is free and easy… and it often boosts conversions.

Photo of the week

Ozzy Osbourne’s DNA in a can? Liquid Death just dropped “Infinite Ozzy,” limited-edition iced tea cans infused with the Prince of Darkness's actual DNA. Only 10 cans are up for grabs – signed by Ozzy himself – so you can own a one-of-a-kind collectible or maybe even try cloning him (if science allows). Rock memorabilia doesn’t get cooler than this!
