Key ecommerce updates

Reddit turns user comments into ads with new marketing tools
Reddit is celebrating its 20th anniversary with new marketing features, including tools that turn user-generated posts and comments into advertisements. The Conversation Summary Add-ons dynamically surface positive content from Reddit users to boost ad relevance, while Reddit Insights provides AI-driven social listening for brands. While innovative, this move raises concerns about preserving Reddit's reputation as a hub for authentic reviews and user trust.

StockX and Shopify team up to revolutionize resale for merchants
Shopify has announced an exciting new integration with StockX through the StockX Sales Channel, enabling merchants to seamlessly tap into the booming resale market. This partnership is a game-changer for sellers of collectibles, sneakers, and streetwear, providing direct access to StockX’s live marketplace. Merchants can now focus on inventory, pricing, and products while StockX handles authentication, payments, and fulfillment. With this integration, Shopify continues to empower entrepreneurs to meet their customers wherever they are.

Tip of the week: Show product reviews in checkout

Want an easy way to increase conversions?

Add product star ratings to your checkout.

If someone’s about to buy and sees “4.9 stars from 1,200 reviews” — that’s instant trust.

You can now show review summaries right next to each item in the new one-page checkout.

How to do it:

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout

  2. Under “Configuration,” click Customize

  3. On the left side, look for Order Summary > Add app block

  4. Choose your reviews app and add the rating summary block

Done ✅

A few tips:

  • This only works if your reviews app supports the new checkout

  • Not all apps do — if yours doesn’t show up, it’s time for a better one

Swedish designer Gustaf Westman is turning heads (and homes) with his latest creation – a spiral baguette holder in bright pink that’s part handbag, part bread carrier! As part of his summer pop-up tour, Gustaf is skipping traditional retail spaces and transforming private homes across Europe into playful, lived-in galleries. From Berlin to Paris and beyond, each stop showcases his signature colorful, curvy designs, including chunky cups, blob tables, and, of course, the quirky baguette holder.
