Hey there,

Shopify dropped big updates this week – from a complete fulfillment overhaul to new enterprise tools for global brands. Google also made waves with its latest AI image editing model, and there’s a new premium theme worth checking out.

Shopify News

Fulfillment tools rebuilt from the ground up
Shopify has expanded its shipping and fulfillment system, bringing everything into the admin:

  • Bulk processing of up to 250 orders

  • Pick lists with bin locations

  • Box-size automation

  • Built-in address validation and $200 label insurance

  • Duties & taxes collected at checkout with DDP labels

Nano Banana AI takes over the internet
Google launched Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, nicknamed “Nano Banana,” an image editing model that keeps faces consistent across edits and allows for multi-step changes.

Users can change clothes, swap backgrounds, blend images, and apply new styles. The most viral trend so far? People posting fake celebrity photos on LinkedIn. Free users get 100 edits per day; paid users get 1,000.

Unify: One hub for multi-brand retailers
Shopify partnered with RunDTC and ContentStack to launch Unify — a centralized interface for managing multiple Shopify storefronts.

Early adopter Steve Madden launched 30 global sites across 3 brands and saw a 16% conversion lift by localizing content while keeping brand consistency.

Shopify acquires Molly Studio
Shopify has acquired New York design firm Molly Studio to operate as an internal creative agency. The goal is to inject speed and energy into product design projects, helping teams deliver polished user experiences in 2–3 month sprints.

Hidden theme risk: Pagination limit changed

Shopify quietly reduced the pagination limit from 1000 → 250. Custom theme features like swatches, bundles, or filters that loop through all products may now break if your store has more than 250 items.

How to check: Search your theme code for “by 1000.” If it shows up, you may be affected.

Photo of the week

Instagram has officially launched on the iPad after 15 (!) years of waiting. Starting today, tablet users can download the app from the App Store. The design is different from the mobile version: the panel with Direct and the home page will be located on the left side of the feed, while the comments section will appear on the right.

Upon launch, the app will automatically open the Reels section, once again highlighting the platform's focus on short videos.
