ShopOps weekly
What breaks, what improves, and what to fix now.

Hi there,
Jon here.
Two interesting Shopify things this week:
• a summary of the recent Shopify updates you can’t miss (highly requested section - we heard you! thank you for the feedback!)
• a founder who scaled to 7 figures by doing things herself first
If you run ops, marketing, or dev - this one might be worth forwarding.

Shopify Updates You Can’t Miss
1. Shopify is going all-in on market-level customization
Shopify just expanded what you can customize per market.
You can now customize:
• storefront (theme settings, app embeds)
• checkout (blocks, branding, logic)
• customer accounts
All per country or market – directly in the editor.
What this means in practice:
→ different payment methods per country
→ localized messaging and delivery options
→ B2B vs B2C experiences in the same store
No duplicate themes, separate stores, and messy conditions.
Why it matters:
Shopify is quietly turning “one store” into a true multi-region setup.
If you sell internationally, this reduces a lot of complexity.
2. Shopify Scripts are being phased out
Big one if you’re on Plus.
• April 15 → you can’t edit or publish Scripts
• June 30 → Scripts stop working completely
They’re being replaced by Shopify Functions.
Scripts were powerful, but messy: slow, hard to test, difficult to maintain.
Functions are faster, more flexible, and built for modern Shopify.
What to do:
→ pull your current Scripts
→ map each one to a Function or app
→ don’t wait until the last minute
It’s a chance to clean up your logic and improve performance!
3. Shopify Analytics just got way more useful
You can now use metafields inside reports.
Before:
Custom data lived in spreadsheets or external tools.
Now:
You can analyze it directly in Shopify.
Examples:
• performance by product attributes (materials, ingredients, etc.)
• customer segments (loyalty tiers, tags)
• custom filters based on your own business logic
Why it matters:
Your team can finally work from one source of truth without exporting data.
Brand Story: From Burnout to 7 Figures

Lea Richards, a former finance professional, turned a Father’s Day BBQ disappointment into a premium, chef-driven Shopify brand featured on national TV. By mastering channels in-house before hiring experts, protecting margins, and obsessing over customer experience, she scaled to 7 figures with discipline.
We’d love to hear your story and feature it next week!
